IN the wake of reports regarding increased incidence of typhoid fever and other illnesses in Barangay FS Catanico, the City Council during its regular session Monday presided over by Councilor Ramon Tabor declared the barangay as a calamity area.
The Power learned that a number of Catanico residents had been confined in the different hospitals.Councilor Dante Pajo, chair of the City Council committee on health, however said this still does not constitute an outbreak of the disease.According to health authorities, the water borne diseases are caused by contamination of the water system in the barangay.Last week, Vice Mayor Vicente Emano called on health authorities to look into the needs of the patients especially in the hinderland barangays.
I hope everybody will be okay especially my family most of the people in Catanico is my relatives my parents and siblings also live there and being affected with this illness. My mother is admitted in a near hospital right now because she start having blood on her stool. So far she is doing good and hopefully she will be out in a few days. My problem is that my brother, sister and nieces is suffering by this typhoid fever. I really do hope that the government will do something to help the people of Catanico to recover on this calamity. I'm very sad about this We already lost the son of my cousin he died because of typhoid fever.
